Friendships with a capital S for SQUAD ONE

From grade school to junior high to high school through college years, marriage, motherhood, to grandparenting, to retirement, to semi retired, these gals know what the word friendship means. What a fascinating story to learn how these ten gals have kept in contact with each other through the years. On almost a yearly basis they have been meeting on common grounds or taking a trip together. That is something worth celebrating! FYI: A note from Joan "Squad One goes all the way back to Gym Class at Woodrow Wilson when we lined up in Squads for roll check." From left to right back row: Dottie Honeycutt Schulz, Kay Vaughan Baker, Shirley Simpson Fortenbury, Joan Willoughby Cantrell, Kathy Scott Pierce, Carole Ann Holmes Hamel, and Suzy Hodges Lanier. Front row left to right: Shirley Logan Riedmueller, Sheila McCarthy Umphrey, and Gail Patin Shook. That may be one of Sheila's dogs.

Kay Vaughan Baker sent me several photos and links to some Kodak Gallery photos of this SQUAD ONE group of lovely ladies from our class of 1958. You will have to create a FREE account with Kodak Gallery unless you already have one to view each photo album. Kay has given permission for these albums to be made public. If you go to her family website Kay and Duffie Baker, you can peruse the site and find the link for The Baker's Special Friends or click on the photo of Kay and Duffie below. The links for the photo albums in the Kodak Gallery are on that page. Enjoy! I certainly did enjoy the photos and the phone conversation with Kay.
