Retired from Auburn Univertisy, Auburn, AL, where I was on the
piano faculty.
7. If you're retired, what are you doing now?
Reading a lot. Active in our church. Have served as organist/pianist

services. Active in a music club, and still perform solo and with my
husband at civic meetings, dinners, and other gatherings.

Still practice piano a couple of hours a day. E-mail. Read a lot. Do

9. How many children do you have and where do they live?
Our son Trey is the high school band director in Van, TX, close to where
we live and his wife is a lawyer in Tyler. We get to see him and his
family often. Our daughter Kay and her husband live in Athens, TN, where
she works with the Chamber of Commerce and he is principal of the middle
school.
10. How many grandchildren do you have?
Seven. Our son and his wife have 3 and our daughter and her husband have 4
------ and our BABY grandchild just turned SIXTEEN. How did that happen???
11. Did you hold an office while in high school, participate in sports, the
band, the Hussars, etc?
I was in the Hussars and I was accompanist for the concert choir.
12. What were your aspirations when you were in high school?
I must confess I didn't think too far ahead when I was in high school; at
least, not in terms of what I would "do" with my life. Mostly, I just wanted
to be a good person and have a loving family framework within which to live
and work.
13. Did you accomplish most of the goals you set for yourself back then or
did you alter your direction?
Since I didn't really have any goals set, that's a moot point. However, if
anyone had told me when I graduated from college that I would wind up getting
a Master's Degree in Piano Performance and teaching at the university level,
I would have thought they were crazy. Mostly that came about because I had
unbelievable encouragement from my husband Claude.
14. What was your favorite song during high school days?
OMIGOSH!! I'm supposed to remember this???? OK. Let's see. I remember liking
"They Call the Wind Mariah." (Is that one?)
15. What was your favorite movie back then?
I loved movies. Funny Face, Bridge on the River Kwai, South Pacific, Old Man
and the Sea, etc., etc., etc.
16. What were your favorite hangouts?
Guess I "hung out" at the movies as much as anywhere.
17. Do you have any photos of these events?
No. Sorry.
18. What was your favorite subject in high school and why?
Obviously, I loved choir and I thought Mr. Jordahl was wonderful. Sorry we
don't know where he is now. I also always loved English and thought if I
had not been a music major I would have been an English major.
19. Who was your favorite teacher or was there a teacher who inspired you?
I liked most all my teachers. One person whose class I enjoyed being in
was Miss Vickers because I was so shy back then and the first day of class
she said, "There is no such thing as a stupid question. If you don't
understand, ask. The only stupid thing is not asking." I liked that.
20. What was your most embarrassing moment or your worst nightmare during
high school years?
Do you really think I am going to tell you this???
21. Where did you meet your mate?
We met at Lamar University. He was a voice major and he needed an accompanist
for his senior voice recital. He has kept the song in my heart for 47 years.
22. Do you know any classmates who are deceased?
No response
23. What are your favorite websites?
No response
24. If you could change history, what would you do differently?
Too many things to mention ---- although the big things, like who I married
and what I chose to study are right on.
25. If you could go anywhere in the world and be anything you wanted to be
at this stage of the game, where would you go and what would you do and why?
We have been fortunate enough to go lots of places in the world. LOVE to travel.
But as for making major changes at this point, not interested. Been there.
Done that. I love my life. I love where I am living. I love my church. I love
my friends. I love having time to just "be." I love still being able to practice
great music. I am a happy person.
26. If you could go back to our high school days, which year would you go back
to and why?
Sorry. Not for all the tea in China. High school was not my best time. Too timid.
Too intimidated. Too un-opinionated. Too scared.
27. Is there anything in particular you would like to see on this website?
28. Photos.
29. How computer literate are you?
I can manage to do most things I want to do.
30. Three part question: your favorite color, your favorite number, and your
favorite movie of all time.
I like every shade of green I have ever seen.
Seven -- probably because of seven GREAT grandchildren (and no, that's NOT
great-grandchildren, YET)
Favorite movie --- hmmmmm.....probably Gone with the Wind
