6. Your occupation or if you are retired, what was your occupation?
Medical typist in medical office; bookkeeper for moving firm.
Decorated wedding and all occasion cakes in my home for long time.
7. If you are retired, what are you doing now?
Church treasurer for a Methodist church.
8. Your hobbies and/or pastimes.
Crocheting intricate dimensional doilies; reading books by John Grisham,
and Stephen King; sing in church Choir,(love to sing). Play a little
piano some-times. Not a good piano player though.
9. How many children do you have and where do they live?
I had two children. I lost my son, Dean, in 1981, in an auto accident,
only 18 years of age. Never married and of course no children. My daughter,
Roxane lives in Conroe, Texas.

10. How many grandchildren do you have?
I have 4 beautiful grandchildren.
2 boys and 2 girls. Ages 24, 17, 14 and 10 years old.
11. Did you hold an office while in high school, participate in sports,
the band, the Hussars, etc.?
I really don't remember any office. Was in Jackateens which was fun.
12. What were your aspirations when you were in high school?
To become a Secretary, as I LOVED shuffling papers. Ha! Really, I'm serious.
Went to Lamar College to obtain my Secretarial goal.
13. Did you accomplish most of the goals you set for yourself back then or
did you alter your direction?
Yes and no. Married after I finished 2 years of college. Worked 3 months
before I got pregnant. Smell of coffee made me so sick in the office, until
my boss figured out I was pregnant. He didn't like my staying so sick,
so I had to quit.
14. What was your favorite song during your high school days?
"Smoke Gets Into Your Eyes" by the Platters. All Platters songs, I guess.
In our Senior year, "Get A Job" by the Drifters, (I think), was another
favorite. Also, Elvis Pressley's songs.
15. What was your favorite movie back then?
Sorry don't remember.
16. What were your favorite hangouts? i.e. The Beehive, the movies, the
drive in, Pleasure Pier, etc.
Loved making the Drag down Proctor St., going to Pennington's Drive In,
Drakes Drive In drinking cokes and eating french fries with friends.
Going to Pleasure Pier, especially when the ballroom was changed into
roller-skating rink.
17. Do you have photos of any of these events?
No, wish I had taken pictures, though.
18. What was your favorite subject in high school and why?
English, Typing and P.E. Don't know exactly why, guess they seemed easy
for me.
19. Who was your favorite teacher or was there a teacher who inspired you?
I liked all of my teachers but Mr. Copeland, typing teacher is one who
inspired me, Miss Gunstream really inspired me to STUDY and be able to
READ Gregg Short-hand each morning. Last but not least was Mrs. Swanzy.
She was a very patient teacher.
20. What was your most embarrassing moment or your worst nightmare during
high school years?
Giving oral book reports. I was too bashful to stand in front of the class
and give reports. Most embarrassing though would be to go in front of a
math class and work a problem on the blackboard. I was HORRIBLE in all math.
21. Where did you meet your mate if you are married? (not necessary to
include previous mates if you are divorced or separated).
Met Charles at the old ballroom roller-skating rink on Pleasure Pier.
He was a great skater as he could skate backward. NOT me. Had to see where
I was going. Been married to him 48 years in July '08.
22. Do you know of any classmates who are deceased? If so, please relay the
information so it can be added to a memorial page.
Oh, yes. Betty Sue Ayers was a dear friend whom died in 1976. She was only
37 years old. Of course there have been many other dear friends whom have
passed also.

23. What are your favorite websites. Please list no more than three and

Recipe Websites; our Class of '58 Website, a million thanks to Carolyn for
her hard work. Our church website, too.
24. If you could change history, what would you do differently if anything
at all? Keep it brief and you do not have to share, you don’t have to have
anything you would do differently either.
Car makers make cars STRONGER so car accidents would not kill our children
and other loved ones.
25. If you could go anywhere in the world and be any thing you wanted to be
at this stage of the game, where would you go and what would you do and why?
The holy lands. Charles & I would love to go there some day.

26. If you could go back to our high school days, which year would you go
back to and why? Considering our high school days were 1954 to 1958 including
Woodrow Wilson Jr. High years.

27. Is there anything in particular you would like to see on this website?
Pictures, past and present. Keeping track of our classmates as the years go by,
like if someone is ill, post it; having a new great grandbaby, or what-ever.
Guess I'm nosy. Ha!

28. Do you have any photos of yourself then and now? If you don’t know how
to scan or don’t have a scanner, would you be willing to send copies of the
photos so I can scan them for use in the website?
No one but no one is ready for that.
29. How computer literate are you? Do you need help with any of this computer
stuff? I won’t mind helping. I give a simple step-by-step list of how to.
I'm not talking instructions, just help if needed.
I'm not computer literate but thanks to you Carolyn, I was able to right
click on mouse and copy this to a new email page. Couldn't have done it
without your help. Still haven't learned exactly how to scan and email
pictures.

30. Three part question: your favorite color, favorite number, and your
favorite movie of all time.
All shades pink.
10 is fav. number.
"Somewhere In Time" is my most favorite movie along with the music.
