NOTICE:
Ara A. Golmon, age 94, passed away April 24, 2009, at
at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, Mississippi.
She was born on March 22, 1915, to John Clarence Golmon and
Mary Lela Arnold.
She was a graduate of Brookhaven High School, Baylor
University and the Bread Loaf School of English. She was
an English teacher for Thomas Jefferson High School in
Port Arthur, Texas until her retirement. She was a member
of First Baptist Church in Brookhaven.
Survivors are her brother, Hollis Golmon, of Monticello;
and Aileen Hogatt, of Bridge City, Texas.
Graveside services for Ara A. Golmon, of Brookhaven,
Mississippi are 10 a.m. Monday, April 27, at Rosehill
Cemetery. Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity
of your choice.
Hurricane Ike
For our classmates who had to evacuate due to Hurricane Ike
I sent an email to all on our email list regarding Ike;
replies are posted. I will be sending out 11 postcards to
our classmates who live in Bridge City and Orange, Texas
and the one who has a PO Box at Crystal Beach, Texas.
I sent our address roster to everybody on our email list
several months back.
